ZHUHAI FACTORY TOUR, TUESDAY NOV. 22ND

What a lovely day last Tuesday in Zhuhai.  It's nice to have the men along to help with the purchase decisions and be part of the Zhongshan experience. We had a full van of 7.

Here are just some of the finds that are being shipped back to Hong Kong.

This trip we actually found and bought a dining room table with a leaf!!!!

Thanks Jeni for a great day yesterday.  Matt and I thoroughly enjoyed it and picked out some lovely pieces.  I know it was a lot of work for you to organize and I just want to say thanks.

Great fun and lots of interesting sights yesterday! I already received a response via email from Stephen regarding delivery and cost!  Delivery should be no trouble at all!

Firstly thank you so much for a great day in  Zhuhai.  All ready got a few ladies that are interested in joining you on a trip to Zhuhai.

Thank YOU for the wonderful day! I had a great time and it was nice to meet everyone.

The base was purchased on the trip - but the shade was purchased from me.  I make these beautiful linen lined barrel shades.  $600 HK each.

I have the lamp shades for these lamps.  We are wiring them up ' English' style.

We are stripping this alter table for the raw shellac look.

This trunk will end up being a coffee table or end table.  Either way we are adding a 3" wood base to bump it up to 17" and adding a strong hard varnish to protect it.   What Fun!

Just a quick and easy clean up on these and they will be used in the boys room.

Where this orange trunk ended up in the home.

Cute little farm table - it's not screaming CHINESE!

BEDSIDE TABLES

The king has found his thrown for his castle.

This is something I found for a customer's home and had it refinished.  It turned out absolutely beautiful.  There is a slight orange tint - not intentional - but we have orange in the room so it's a wonderful surprise.

PINK IDEAS ON TAI TAM

These are the ideas that I'm playing around with.  With the large wall of mirrors in the dining room - let's have it reflect something beautiful and updated.

I'm thinking old working with new combinations.  Old stripped wood - with new contemporary furnishings.  You already updated with the color pink - the number one color of 2011.

This pink has a lot of blue in the color.  It goes very well with white!

 BEFORE

There is not much room for a tall cabinet.  And you want to show some of your art work. So a smaller accent cabinet - stripped and raw would be better.

Find an alter table design with storage.  You can never have enough!

Maybe instead of the wicker sofa that will be too large once the new sofa arrives - find smaller seating and update it with these contemporary Barcelona chairs in white leather.   You need seating for 6-8 people.   At least 6 and you can pull chairs in when needed.

The silver on these chairs repeats the silver in your dining room chandelier (for a better word).  Instead of replacing it - let's make it work.
Another idea for a coffee table.  Keeps it looking light and airy and fits into the area of the sectional.

The look with the rug, Barcelona chairs, glass coffee table and the organized bookcase!

To repeat wood furniture - cover this in a pink printed fabric.  We need more print!

MORE SILVER

One idea for a low accent sofa table. - or even a coffee table.

Another idea for a small accent table.  Maybe between the 2 Barcelona chairs.  It repeats the color of the dining room wicker and the wood in the room.

Bring your tall lamps down from the dining room to the living room.
You could use one beautiful lamp on the alter table at the front door.  Not the smaller ones you have..

To repeat the metal in the Barcelona chairs - and because the are mesh - they are light and airy feeling.  Add the white leather to the seats - for your bar area.  There are your 2 more seats. I like these because they  have backs for long term support at the computer.

Take the leaves out of the old dining table.  Can it be used as an accent table by the window in the living room?  We could also cover it with material.

Add some colored fabric to the back or your cabinet.    Then arrange the items aesthetically.

Fix your cane chairs - Add some colored fabric.
Because your elevator is only 84" high - you cannot get an extremely long table.  I also think anything heavy will over power the room. So I suggest the white marble tulip table.
Dining room chairs.  Place your stool by the chaise.

Hallway bookcases (2) repeats the white in your Indonesian cabinet.

THE PINK SOFA ON TAI TAM

I've just been to a new client's home where a dramatic pink sectional has been ordered. We are heading to the factories on Tuesday and looking for accent pieces.

I've been hunting for inspiration to help us key into the look we're after.

Is it rustic and distressed - or new and modern -  or a combination of both?

Love the look of the bucket chairs around the old wood dining table.

This is actually coral.  But note the sisal rug and the oriental on top.  It's a very ornate opium table with a antique cream base and neutral top.  I actually like the look of paint and stain on coffee tables.
Also note the wicker baskets - which can be repeated as tortoise shell wicker color in furniture or blinds.

 TULIP TABLE, again!
I hate to be the one to admit it but years ago (27 years) I painted my walls a light gray and had pink corduroy draperies.  It's the only fabric I could afford and designed around them.

 Petite tulip accent tables.

Mix the top photo with the bottom photo and drama is created. Note another tulip table.

Here's one the client needs to look at.  Notice the painted white cupboard and the raw wood coffee table.  Similar to what we were discussing.
